The Iraqi High Election Commission (IHEC) announced on Saturday that approximately 70,000 voting machines have arrived at its offices and will be programmed for use in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Spare machines will be distributed across around 41,000 polling stations to ensure smooth voting.
The commission also confirmed that this year it has resolved the issue of unreadable fingerprints, enabling all eligible voters to cast their ballots without difficulty. More than 7,000 individuals have submitted their nominations for the November 11 elections.
