The New Generation Movement has continued its initiative to deliver drinking water to residents in water-deprived neighborhoods of Sulaimani, stepping in where the government has failed to act.
On Monday, movement teams and parliamentarians distributed water across several neighborhoods in the city, responding to severe shortages that have left families without reliable access. Residents told NRT that they have endured years of scarcity, with the outdated government unable to provide solutions. Many households are forced to purchase three to four tankers of water each month to meet their basic needs.
Local residents welcomed the assistance, saying that the services provided by the New Generation Movement cannot be matched by any political party. "We congratulate the team for their efforts. They are serving the people when the government has abandoned us,” one resident said.
Since the start of the summer, as water shortages have intensified across the Kurdistan Region, the New Generation Movement has carried out similar distributions in different cities and towns, ensuring that citizens suffering from a lack of clean drinking water receive much-needed support.
