dozens of unemployed medical graduates and doctors staged a protest in front of the Council of Ministers building in Erbil, demanding immediate employment and criticizing the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) for its inaction.
The protesters, who have repeatedly called for their rights, said that despite multiple appeals and sit-ins, the government has yet to provide a clear solution for their employment. They emphasized that the current situation has pushed many qualified doctors into uncertainty while the healthcare system continues to suffer from staff shortages.
Doctors in hospitals and health centers across the region have suspended their duties in solidarity, warning that the government's continued failure to respond could escalate the crisis in the health sector.
"The fate of hundreds of medical graduates remains unknown. We have fulfilled our responsibilities, now the government must fulfill theirs," one protesting graduate told NRT.
This protest marks another chapter in a growing wave of dissatisfaction among unemployed professionals in the Kurdistan Region.
