The Iraqi Election Commission (IEC) has officially extended the deadline for biometric voter registration for an additional month, giving citizens more time to ensure their eligibility for the upcoming national elections.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the IEC said the move aims to accommodate those who have not yet obtained their biometric voting cards or need to renew them, ensuring that no eligible voter is excluded from the electoral process.
The Commission also reminded the public that citizens born in 2007 are now eligible to vote in this election and are urged to visit registration centers to receive their biometric cards.
Additionally, the IEC has called on voters who previously experienced issues with fingerprint recognition to revisit the centers and resolve the problem ahead of election day.
The Commission emphasized its commitment to an inclusive and transparent electoral process and encouraged all citizens to take advantage of the extended registration period.
