Japanese Ambassador to Iraq Akira Ando visited the leader of the New Generation Movement, Shaswar Abdulwahid Qadir, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. The two discussed the political situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections scheduled for later this year.
The visit comes amid increasing political activity in the region, drawing the attention of international delegations to the New Generation Movement. Just last week, Russian Consul in the Kurdistan Region Maxim Robin also held a meeting with Abdulwahid, highlighting growing global interest in the movement’s views and positions.
