SULAIMANI — Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Tourism Board Amal Jalal told NRT’s Tawtwe interview program on Thursday (July 22) that approximately 2 million tourists visited the Kurdistan Region over the last six months.

Jalal said that over the first two days of the Eid-al-Adha holiday approximately 250,000 tourists visited the Region, with the final number expected to be double that figure.

She argued that it was important for the KRG to invest in infrastructure as a way to lure additional tourists, which will benefit the economy.
