SULAIMANI — Head of Sheikh Mahmood School Rebwar Qadr Shaswar told NRT on Wednesday (May 12) that part of the school’s building which consisted of three rooms has been turned into a commercial place.

Shaswar said that area is 150 meters which was used as rooms for teachers and staff.

He said that the school has send a memorandum to Eastern Education Directorates of Sulaimani for an explanation about the issue but the directorate has not responded yet.

Meanwhile, Educational Specialist Mariwan Hilmi said that such work cause damage to education, schools, and people.

He said that such schools have long history which are better for a museum not a commercial site.
