952 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Kurdistan Region: ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Friday (April 23) it had officially recorded 952 new cases of coronavirus infections over the past 24 hours.

There were 389 new cases in Duhok governorate, 304 in Sulaimani, 199 in Erbil, 43 in Garmian administration, ten in Halabja, and seven in the Raparin administration.

On October 27, the Region recorded its highest single-day total with 1,597 infections.

The ministry also said twelve patients had died from the disease, while 791 others recovered.

According to the health ministry, there have been 144,675 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 121,164 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 3,932 have died from it.

The numbers are almost certainly an undercount.
