SULAIMANI — Hangaw Organization for Human Rights reported on Thursday (February 25) that two ethnic Kurds were killed the previous day when the Iranian security forces opened fire on their truck in Piranshahr.

The advocacy group, which closely monitors developments in Iranian Kurdistan, named the victims as Abdullah Naderi and Osman Naderi, who were brothers.

The incident happened on the Shinabad-Zidan road in West Azerbaijan province near Urmia.

Following the fatal shooting, their family staged a protest outside the Piranshahr Intelligence Office. The security forces responded by detaining some of the victims’ relatives, including their parents, and holding them for several hours, according to Hengaw.
