SULAIMANI — Deputy Head of the Kurdistan Parliament’s Integrity Committee Saeed Harki said on Wednesday (February 24) that the committee thinks that the reform process at the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs is being performed “feebly.”

As part of its oversight role, the committee has summoned ministry officials for a briefing.

Harki told the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s (KDP) official media outlet that the committee wants the ministry to speed up the pace of reform and that the lawmakers would continue to follow up on its progress.

The project aims to unify the Peshmerga into a cohesive military force, organize its auditing department, rebuild its internal structure, increase cooperation between the Peshmerga and partner forces, and examine pensions, retirement procedures, and martyrs' cases.
