860 coronavirus cases recorded in Kurdistan Region: ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health said on Saturday (October 24) that it has recorded 860 cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region over the past 24 hours.

A total of 383 of the newest cases are in Duhok governorate, along with 330 in Erbil, 109 in Sulaimani, 28 in Garmian administration, ten in Halabja.

The Region logged more than 1,000 new cases on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and several days over 900 the previous week.

The ministry also said that twenty-six patients have died from the virus, while 454 recovered from the disease.

According to the health ministry, there have been 68,044 officially recorded cases of coronavirus in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 39,661 patients has recovered from COVID-19 and 2,289 have died from it.
