SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Friday (October 23) that it recorded 3,785 new cases of coronavirus infection and 48 deaths in the country over the past 24 hours.

Of the total, 1,294 of the newest cases are in Baghdad governorate, along with 461 in Erbil, 425 in Duhok, 167 in Sulaimani, 165 in Saladin, 163 in Kirkuk, 158 in Diyala, 157 in Basra, 143 in Wasit, 133 in Nineveh, 120 in Maysan, 113 in Babil, 107 in Najaf, 47 in Muthanna, 44 in Diwaniya, 39 in Anbar, 26 in Dhi Qar and twenty-three in Karbala.

The ministry said that 48 patients died from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, and 3,362 patients recovered from it.

According to the health ministry, there have been 445,949 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. 375,188 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 10,513 have died from it.
