Coronavirus infections in Iraq pass 360,000, with 4,691 in last 24 hours: ministry

SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Wednesday (September 30) that it recorded 4,691 new cases of coronavirus infection and 59 deaths in the country.

Of the total 1,870 of the newest cases are in Baghdad governorate, along with 22 in Wasit, 399 in Dhi Qar, 297 in Erbil, 224 in Duhok, 214 in Basra, 194 in Diyala, 164 in Kirkuk, 156 in Babil, 152 in Sulaimani, 114 in Diwaniya, 100 in Najaf, 89 in Nineveh, 84 in Maysan 80 in Karbala, 52 in Muthanna, 41 in Saladin and 38 in Anbar.

The ministry said that 59 patients died from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, and 3,385 patients recovered from it.

According to the health ministry, there have been 362,981 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. 292,197 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 9,181 have died from it.
