SULAIMANI — Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Construction and Housing Minister Dana Abdulkarim said on Sunday (September 20) that repair and construction work on the Penjwen-Bashmakh road will resume and be finished before winter.

During a visit to Bashmakh border crossing with Iran, located in northeastern Sulaimani governorate, Abdulkarim said that his ministry would allocate sufficient funding for the completion of the project.

The project was supposed to resume last year, but was delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak, he said during a press conference, adding that work will also resume on the Said Sadiq-Penjwen divided highway.
