SULAIMANI — Nineveh Governor Najm al-Jabouri said on Sunday (September 20) that construction work will begin in the next few days on a modern railway line to connect Mosul with Turkey.

Al-Jabouri told Iraq's state-run newspaper al-Sabah that specialized engineering and technical staff from the governorate and Turkish engineering and construction companies will build the railway line together.

He added that the project is the first of its kind in Mosul.

The newspaper did not provide further information about how the railway would be built, its route, or how it will be funded.
