Three ISIS militants killed in Coalition airstrike in Hamrin Mountain

SULAIMANI —Three Islamic State (ISIS) militants were killed in an airstrike by the US-led Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) in the Hamrin mountain range in Diyala governorate on Wednesday (August 5).

“By order of the [Iraqi] Joint Operations Command, international coalition aircraft carried out an airstrike in the Hamrin mountain range within the Kirkuk sector, killing four terrorists,” the Iraqi state-run Security Media Cell said in a statement.

“A force from the fifth Division of the Federal Police went out after carrying out this strike and found a hideout containing 20 explosive devices ready for detonation,” read the statement.

“According to information, terrorist elements were preparing these devices for use against civilians and security forces.”
