2,110 new coronavirus cases recorded in Iraq: ministry

SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Wednesday (July 15) that it recorded 2,110 new cases of coronavirus and 87 deaths in the country over the past 24 hours.

A total of 496 of the newest cases are in Baghdad governorate, along with 191 in Dhi Qar, 187 in Wasit, 174 in Babil, 165 in Basra, 158 in Kirkuk, 131 in Sulaimani, 123 in Najaf, 122 in Karbala, 74 in Diyala, 72 in Maysan, 68 in Diwaniya, 46 in Muthanna, 42 in Saladdin, 40 in Erbil, eleven in Anbar, and ten in Duhok.

The ministry said that 87 patients died from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, 1,839 patients recovered from it.

According to the health ministry, there have been 83,867 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. 52,621 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 3,432 have died from it.
