2,312 new coronavirus cases recorded in Iraq: ministry

SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Sunday (July 12) that it recorded 2,312 new cases of coronavirus and 95 deaths in the country over the past 24 hours.

A total of 745 of the newest cases are in Baghdad governorate, 200 in Babil, 188 in Najaf, 164 in Basra, 155 in Sulaimani, 144 in Dhi Qar, 134 in Wasit, 119 in Karbala, 104 in Erbil, 86 in Kirkuk, 84 in Diwaniya, 55 Saladdin, 51 in Diyala, 29 in Muthanna, twenty-three in Maysan, thirteen in Anbar, thirteen in Nineveh, and five in Duhok.

The ministry said that 95 patients died from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, 1,645 patients recovered from it.

According to the health ministry, there have been 77,506 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. 44,724 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 3,150 have died from it.
