2,426 new coronavirus cases recorded in Iraq: ministry

SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Tuesday (July 7) that it recorded 2,426 new cases of coronavirus and 94 deaths in the country over the past 24 hours.

A total of 718 of the newest cases are in Baghdad governorate, 426 in Saladdin, 172 in Babil, 172 in Sulaimani, 162 in Dhi Qar, 137 in Basra, 137 in Erbil, 89 in Maysan, 75 in Karbala, 66 in Kirkuk, 62 in Diyala, 49 in Diwaniya, 43 in Najaf, 43 in Muthanna, 27 in Wasit, eighteen in Anbar, fifteen in Duhok, and fifteen in Nineveh.

The ministry said that 118 patients died from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, and 1,511 patients recovered from it.

According to the health ministry, there have 

been 64,701 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. 36,252 patients have recovered from COVID-19, and 2,685 have died from it.
