Suspected drug trafficker arrested in Erbil: police

SULAIMANI — The General Directorate of Combating Narcotics in the Kurdistan Region said on Sunday (July 5) that a suspected drug trafficker has been arrested in Erbil in possession of several types of narcotics and paraphernalia.

The directorate said in a statement that its officers seized 265 grams of drugs during the arrest, including opium, heroin, hashish, and 4,900 Tramadol pills. They also sized a Kalashnikov rifle, four other weapons, and a scale.

On June 24, the Directorate of Asayish-Western Sulaimani arrested five people suspected of possession and trafficking of drugs in the governorate.
