SULAIMANI — A fire broke out in a shop selling household goods in Sulaimani’s Dara Sutawaka bazaar on Sunday (July 5), causing significant damage.

NRT reporter Goran Luqman said that the fire was caused by an electrical outage and that much of the shop’s merchandise was destroyed.

Sulaimani Civil Defense Director Ali Diar confirmed that there were no casualties, only material damage, and that their teams had prevented the fire from spreading to other shops.

Dara Sutawaka bazaar is one of the oldest markets in Sulaimani city. Many of the shops there sell second-hand goods.
