2,334 new coronavirus cases recorded in Iraq: ministry

SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Saturday (July 4) that it recorded 2,334 new cases of coronavirus and 106 deaths in the country over the past 24 hours.

A total of 758 of the newest cases are in Baghdad governorate, 247 in Najaf, 221 in Wasit, 143 in Sulaimani, 132 in Dhi Qar, 127 in Diwaniya, 114 in Karbala, 110 in Basra, 105 in Maysan, 98 in Saladdin, 78 in Babil, 61 in Kikruk, 39 in Erbil, 28 in Diyala, 25 in Muthanna, seven in Anbar, and five in Duhok.

The ministry said that 106 patients died from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, and 1,477 patients recovered from it.

According to the health ministry, there have been 58,354 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. 31,077 patients have recovered from COVID-19, and 2,368 have died from it.
