429 new cases of coronavirus, ten deaths recorded in Iraq: ministry

SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Monday (June 1) that it recorded 429 new cases of coronavirus and ten deaths in the country over the past 24 hours.

172 of the newest cases are in Baghdad governorate, 102 in Sulaimani, forty-one in Wasit, thirty-eight in Maysan,  twenty-two in Basra, thirteen in Muthanna, eleven in Karbala, eight in Diwaniya, six in Nineveh, six in Najaf, Four in Babil, Four in Diyala, and two in Duhok.

The ministry said that ten patients died from the virus, including seven in Baghdad governorate, and one each in Maysan, Sulaimani and Anbar. And 108 patients recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection.

According to the health ministry, there have been 6,868 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. 3,275 patients have recovered from COVID-19, and 215 have died from it.
