Sulaimani traffic fines vehicles with no annual document

SULAIMANI — If their vehicles were impounded during the coronavirus curfew, drivers whose vehicles do not have annual registration documents will have to pay one million Iraqi dinars ($839) to get their vehicles back, plus an additional fine for driving during the curfew.

Sulaimani Traffic Directorate’s appeals and investigation official Shahla Mahmood told NRT Digital Media on Monday (May 25) that 186 vehicles were impounded for violating the coronavirus curfew during May and were each fined 100,000 IQD ($83.74).

On May 18, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Interior said that it will implement a 72-hours lockdown from the first day of Eid al-Fitr in the Kurdistan Region, will will last through Tuesday.
