SULAIMANI — The Council of Representatives has delayed a scheduled session on electoral reform until Wednesday (December 11) at noon.

Passing an electoral reform bill is a key demand of protesters, who turned out in large numbers on Tuesday to press their case.

Initially, the session was to be held on Monday, but was then delayed until Tuesday.

The legislation consists of 50 articles and parliament is expected to hold a vote on each of them.

The Council of Representatives will also conduct a second reading of legislation that would provide compensation people who were injured during the war with the Islamic State or had property damaged.
