SULAIMANI — Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein said on
Wednesday (May 11) that 500 Iraqi families have been returned from the Syrian
al-Hol camp to Iraq.
Hussein made the comment during a ministerial meeting of the
US-led anti-Islamic State (IS) global coalition members in Morocco.
Hussein said that the families, mostly women and children,
had been taken to the Al-Jada camp in Nineveh province.
He did not say when exactly the families were returned to
Iraq.
Hussein also said that humanitarian aid should be provided
for the families in the al-Hol camp, and IS militants should be prevented from
infiltrating the camp.
Al-Hol camp hosts thousands of displaced families, including
family members of IS militants.
