SULAIMANI — Iraq’s Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday (May 11) eight Islamic
State (ISIS) members were killed in air bombardments targeting a hideout used
by the group in Nineveh governorate.
"Iraqi F-16s in cooperation with the Counter Terrorism Service carried out
destructive air strikes on an ISIS cave and killed eight terrorists inside Mosul,”
the ministry said in a Facebook statement.
The ministry also announced on Wednesday three "terrorists” were killed in a
large-scale operation in the mountainous countryside south of Mosul where a
tunnel occupied by militants was discovered.
A number of explosives were found in the hideout, which were handled by a
squad of engineers, according to a statement from the ministry.
