Tribal conflict stirs in Sadr City again

SULAIMANI — A tribal conflict left one dead and four wounded in Sadr City, east of Baghdad, on Friday (January 28).

A security source told NRT one person was killed and four others wounded when a dispute broke out between two clans in the Sabaa Qusur area of Sadr City.

Security forces intervened to settle the conflict and have arrested the perpetrators, according to the security source, who added hand grenades were used as well as light and medium weaponry.

An explosives expert was also brought in to take care of an unexploded grenade.

The cause behind the dispute has not been revealed.

A previous tribal dispute between two clans turned violent in Sadr City on January 20.
