KRG health ministry announces new decision on vaccines

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday (January 26) residents of the Region over 18 years of age will be able to get the third dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

The scientific advisory committee for the vaccination program made the decision to start offering the third dose of the vaccine to all adults in order to increase immunity against the coronavirus and the omicron variant, according to a document issued by the health ministry.

The Minister of Health of the Kurdistan Region, Saman Barzinji, had previously said on December 4 the decision to offer the third dose of the coronavirus vaccine to those who have received the first two doses has been put into effect.
