SULAIMANI — Former
prime minister Nouri al-Maliki's said on Friday (December 3) the unification in
all efforts and the cooperation of all political forces within parliament is a
must.
"The formation of a
new unanimous government in Iraq must be urgent, so that it can meet all the
demands of the Iraqi people for services and job opportunities,” Maliki said.
The former prime
minister called on new members of the Iraqi Parliament to "work as hard as they
can to abide by the national principles and have a good connection with the
people.”
Iraq's Shia parties
met on Thursday including Fatah Alliance leader Hadi al-Amiri, Sadrist Movement
leader Muqtada al-Sadr, State of Law Coalition leader Nouri al-Maliki and
discussed a range of topics, including the result of the parliamentary
elections and the government formation process.
