SULAIMANI — The Iraqi Federal Ministry of Interior’s Police
Affairs Agency said on Tuesday (November 30) its forces have arrested a father
who tried to sell his two minor daughters for 9 million Iraqi dinars ($6,170)
in Baghdad.
The agency said in a statement the suspect confessed to
selling his infant son hours after his birth to the same person in the
Kurdistan Region.
The suspect was arrested in an operation based on secret
information received by the agency. The sale was prevented.
The suspect has been arrested in accordance with Article 6
of Combating Trafficking in Persons Law No. 28 of 2012.
