Fourteen new cases of coronavirus recorded in Sulaimani: KRG health ministry

Some had been abroad, others had traveled within the governorate

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Sunday night (March 13) that it has recorded fourteen new cases of novel coronavirus in Sulaimani.

The new patients include eight women and six men.

Seven of the cases are from Darbandikhan, where there is a serious outbreak of the virus, and had contact with patients who were identified earlier.

Five of them have travelled within the governorate to places including Penjwen, Siagwez, Sitak, or Sulaimani city. Two have not traveled anywhere

The new announcement means that 142 people have now tested positive for coronavirus in the Kurdistan Region. Fifty-three patients have recovered and two have died from COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus.
