Policeman attacks health care worker in Koya

SULAIMANI — Koya’s health directorate said on Sunday (March 29) that one of its employees was attacked and injured by a policeman.

“Several days ago, this policeman had a fever and was transferred by our employee to a hospital for a coronavirus test,” said the directorate said in a statement.

On Sunday, the health care worker was on their way home from work and was attacked by the policeman. The exact circumstances of how they encountered each other again was not immediately made public.

“We will not accept this offense and we will file a suit against [the policeman] in court,” the directorate said, adding that people should respect the hospitals and their staffs.

Meanwhile Koya Police Director Ali Abdulla confirmed that the policeman is one of their employees and that he has been arrested.
