SULAIMANI — During its meeting on Wednesday (September 18) , the Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) Council of Ministers decided to form a committee to reorganize how international border crossings are managed in the Region.

The cabinet did not specify what reforms it would undertake, but said in a press release that the committee would include representatives from all ministries that play a role in cross-border trade.

The meeting also focused on how to facilitate agricultural loans to farmers and ensure that the loans are not defaulted on. 8,868 farmers in the Region have benefited from government loans totaling 222.5 trillion Iraqi dinars ($187 million).

Finally, the Council of Ministers discussed forming a committee to select priorities for the next legislative session of Parliament next year and possible reforms to the Intellectual Property Law.
