SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Region’s weather
directorate said on Sunday (January 23) Penjwen once again had the lowest recorded
temperature for the day, reaching – 25C in the last 24 hours.
Penjwen also boasted the coldest
weather in the Region on Friday when the temperature was recorded at – 16C.
The Kurdistan Region’s General
Directorate of Meteorology and Seismology said temperatures dropped to – 14C in
Mawet, - 12C in Bazian, - 11C in Soran and – 10 in Barzan.
Below zero temperatures were also
recorded in the Region’s main cities. The temperatures were as follows: - 6C in
Sulaimani and Halabja, - 3C in Duhok, - 2C in Erbil and – 1C in Kirkuk.
