282 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Kurdistan Region: ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Thursday (December 2) it officially recorded 282 new cases of coronavirus infection over the past 24 hours.

There were 117 new cases in Erbil governorate, 115 in Duhok, 44 in Sulaimani, and three in the Garmian administration, and three in Halabja.

On July 26, the Region recorded its highest single-day total with 3,559 infections.

The ministry also said twelve patients had died from the disease, while 410 others recovered.

According to the health ministry, there have been 376,127 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 363,811 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 6,906 have died from it.

The numbers are almost certainly an undercount.
