SULAIMANI — Former leader of the Islamic Movement of Kurdistan (IMK) Sdiq Abdulaziz passed away on Monday (December 9) in Sulaimani after an illness.

Abdulaziz, 80, was born on 1939 in Prisi Saru village and became a teacher at the school in his hometown.

He joined the Muslim Brotherhood in 1960 and established the Islamic Revolution Movement in 1992 with other Islamic activists.

Abdulaziz became the deputy head of the IMK in 1999 and stayed active until his retirement in 2012.
